Celebrate 250 years since Captain Cook first visited the Marlborough Sounds at Bay of Many Coves
20-22 Nov 2019
Waka, tall ships and Navy vessels will be part of commemorations to mark the 250th anniversary of Captain James Cook's first visit to the Marlborough Sounds. Cook made five visits to Ship Cove (Meretoto), in the Queen Charlotte Sound (Tōtaranui), the first one on January 15, 1770.
He spent a total of 105 days there, more than anywhere else in New Zealand and Bay of Many Coves have chartered our own vessel to have you right there amongst the action when the Endeavour makes her trip up the Queen Charlotte Sound to the commemorative site at Ship Cove. Join us in the beautiful Marlbourough Sounds over the period.
The ships will spend four or five days in Picton, where you will have the opportunity to go aboard, and have a look through these spectacular ships.
Pricing is from $1,125.00 per person, per night*.
