Performances by New Zealand’s favourite hot swing trio are becoming increasingly rare. So we are delighted they have agreed to come together for a special one-off performance at Bay of Many Coves as part of our luxury jazz series.
While the group’s gentle humour is immediate, the extraordinary musicianship of this versatile and experienced trio wraps it in a deceptive package. There are scorching improvised solos, finely crafted vocal harmonies, tight arrangements and infectious swinging rhythms. It’s easy to see why they have been in demand both here and in some of the world’s biggest jazz festivals. All we know is that when they were last here, the joint was rocking!
In addition to the music, you can savour some of New Zealand’s finest wines from one of our most awarded and globally successful winemakers. We can honestly say that Villa Maria’s Single Vineyard and Reserve wines are nothing short of sensational, an opinion shared by wine commentators and connoisseurs
around the world. You will find out more about these wines and even have a chance to blend your own under the guidance of Villa Maria’s winemaker. A special degustation dinner will top off the weekend with Villa Maria wines providing the perfect accompaniment to chef Hannes Bareiter’s stunning menu.
