Photograhpic Retreat Frames Up Nature in the Marlborough Sounds29 March 2010
For the first time in New Zealand, recreational photographers have the opportunity to spend a long weekend immersed in luxury on a retreat hosted by awarding winning photographer Simon Woolf. The photography retreat will take place at the Bay of Many Coves Resort during 2 – 4 July this year.
Both novice and professional photographers will develop their skills and create stunning images under the guidance of one of New Zealand’s leading professional photographers, amidst unique flora and fauna, landscape, marine and cultural subjects.
When each day is over, participants can relax with excellent wine and cuisine, in 5-star luxury accommodation. Saturday night will offer a degustation menu with Executive Chef Jonno Rogers.
"I'm looking forward to hosting this unique retreat. A trip to the Resort earlier this year got me thinking about the opportunities the stunning environment offers to photographers," says Simon Woolf. "The season will offer a special perspective. We’ll be there when the locals most enjoy the Sounds."
The retreat offers a well structured schedule that includes night time and dawn landscape shoots; macro photography focusing on insects, ferns and flowers; marine and bird life, the art of photographing people, discussions about what makes a good image and the chance to critique the weekends efforts.
Sigma will provide a range of their lenses for participants to try and the best images will be printed by Epson. Participants will need to bring their own cameras and laptops.
